Annecy is one of the most beautiful, romantic places on earth, may be even more stunning than the majestic French Alps that surround it. Just 22 miles from Geneva in the Upper Savoy region of eastern France, Annecy is divided by small canals and streams running from the brilliant blue Lac Annecy. Highlights include the popular terraces that line the canals, giving it a Venice-like feel, as well as the famous Palais de l’Isle, a picturesque 12th century castle built right in the middle of one of the canals.
And all this time I thought Paris was the most romantic place on earth! I definitely have this enchanting place on my places I need to visit!
Situated in Iguazu National Park, about 20 km from Puerto Iguazú in the north of the province, these falls are shared by Brazil and Argentina. The view from the Brazilian side is the most panoramic and there are helicopter rides over the falls from Foz do Iguacu. The light is the best in the morning for photos. The name Iguacu comes from the Guarani fall which means “big water.”
There are more than 270 falls in an area where cliffs are scattered in a half moon. From the visitors center you can walk around trails or in a picturesque train. There are two circuits: an upper path and a lower path. The lower path leads to the base of the falls, where the spray moistens visitors. It is a unique experience, worth daring the adventure. In this circuit, you may also take a boat to Isla San Martín. From the upper path you have panoramic views from the footbridge in an unforgettable experience. The Iguacu Falls are an awesome sight as tonnes of water throws itself over cliffs and the mist rises amongst the jungle is an incredible view. They are even taller than the Niagara Falls! So next time you visit Argentina or Brazil, make a stop at this panoramic site!
